While studying Japanese Calligraphy, she was introduced to Gene K Prewitt who recognized her artistic talent and began to teach her basic oil painting. Later on she studies with other artists, among them, Suzanne Kartz, who specialized in “Rosemaling”, a Norwegian style of decorative painting on wood. On 2013, Kimiko started studies in Elliot Fallas Passion & Art class, under Elliot Fallas coaching, she has developed her own style in painting using vivid colors, bold brush strokes of her own and learned the use of palette knife. Kimiko’s work has been exhibited locally in Dallas, Texas at the “Artists Showplace Gallery, the Plano Art Multi-cultural Exhibit.
