This is the best toy for boys, men and tomboys !The D8 is an excellent choice as a first live steam engine.It is a simple engine that is easy to operate and maintain while demonstrating how a steam engine works. This is nice small size engine capable of operating an accessory. While discontinued a while back, the Wilesco D8 is an excellent first engine. It is far superior to the still produced D6 that has virtually no power. The D8 is more comparable to the D10 in power while it has an oscillating engine. This engine has been air tested (video) and should not give much trouble to operate on steam. While it is in operating condition, it certainly can use some cosmetic TLC. Due to likely poor storage conditions, there is some surface rust a bit everywhere (photos). It certainly can be brought back to its original beauty. It is complete, including the original box that is in poor condition.There is a new whistle as the original one was missing. It is a genuine Wilesco replacement. You will need some solid fuel pellets (anywhere camping supplies are sold) and distilled water is strongly recommended. Please select the shipping system that suits you best. Condition : While this Live Steam Engine is in working condition and mechanically sound, it certainly can use some cosmetic TLC.
