Bound in the publisher's blue cloth covered boards. The contents are toning slightly. The boards are just a touch toned at the edges. In the uncommon dust jacket (with the $2.00 price on the flap and no Caldecott Medal to the jacket), which is slightly rubbed and worn, with a few small chips and tears, including some longer tears along the folds and a small vintage tape reinforcement to the verso.
