Description: Vintage Belair Seapearl 600 Men's diving watch. Very good condition, some scratches and wear due to its 60 year age. See Pics! Hooded lugs, Seapearl name, and notable chequerboard bezel identify this model. Enicar watches had a following amongst auto racers, (Belair was a distributor for Enicar) which may have inspired the racing vibe of the chequerboard bezel. RARE Just serviced and running great. Family is Original Owner from New. The owner, Ernest Grunwald, originally from Germany, moved to the U.S. and by the 1950’s was the U.S. distributor for brands that included CYMA and Enicar. In the early 60’s he registered the trade name Belair and opened a movement assembly plant in the US Virgin Islands and started selling complete watches under the Belair name. Through the relationship with Enicar they gained license to use Enicar's "Seapearl" name on their dive watches. This watch is from that time period.In the mid 70's they expanded the factory to assemble quartz analog watches and movements primarily for private label and to the trade. The company was recently (2018-2020) sold to Seiko Time.
