Beethoven, Brahms - Violin Sonatas No. 8/No. 1 - Rubinstein & Szeryng

Description: This 1962 stereo album from RCA Red Seal (LSC-2620) features works by Beethoven (Sonata No. 8, Op. 30, No. 3) and Brahms (Sonata No. 1, Op. 78). They are performed by Henryk Szeryng (violin) and Artur Rubinstein (piano). Album notes are in English by Louis Biancolli. The record is in very clean condition overall, but has some visible pop scratches, most notably one on Side 2, and so we have played this several times in full on a Thorens TD 126 Mk III turntable. The pressing is generally quiet, but a pop is occasionally audible, so we're grading this a little pessimistically at Very Good Plus. The outer sleeve shows handling wear and repairs, including tape along the entire spine, a 1½" scrape along its top edge (see Photo 1), some peeling along the edges of the white back label, and a small collection index sticker in the upper right corner of the back. (Photo 2) The inner sleeve has a small split at bottom center and the midpoint of one side edge. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
