Description: This is a beautiful example of a WWII Type III PSA photo showing the raising of the American flag on Mount Suribachi at Iwo Jima. The photo is an original, not a reproduction, and was taken by Joe Rosenthal, a renowned photographer who captured many iconic images during WWII. The photo is in excellent shape and would make a great addition to any militaria collection. This photo was developed sometime in 1945. It is in very good shape for its age. You can make out most of the blue lettering on the backside that describes the servicemen in the picture. What a very cool vintage photo of the most iconic wartime scene in my opinion. It will be hard to find one in better condition than this one.
