I typically only grade books as being in “like new” condition for more recently published books that are in immaculate condition. Fine: Almost in the condition of a like new copy. A gorgeous copy which may appear to have hardly been handled by the prior owner. A book designated as fine will have absolutely no defects.Near fine (NF): Nearly in fine condition but still an exceptional copy. A book in this condition will be very clean and crisp throughout.Very Good (VG+/-): A book showing very slight wear but still being in a above average condition. An overall nice and solid copy.Good (G+/-): A book in average condition. All pages and binding are in tact.Fair: A book which is worn but may have major defects such as binding issues, split endpapers, torn pages, etc. All defects will be noted in the listing.Poor: A heavily worn book which may have soiling, staining or loose joints/hinges and pages.
