This paperback graphic novel collects the first story arc of the 80s/90s "Legends of the Dark Knight" series, issues 1-5, and was written by Batman legend Denny O'Neil. "Shaman" is a direct sequel to "Batman: Year One," and tells the tale of a young Batman as he uses his developing skills as a detective to track down a murderous impersonator, leading him down a trail filled with Native North American mysticism. Along the way, we'll explore more deeply the genesis of Bruce Wayne's identity as Batman, and see the first canonical appearance and origin of the Bat Cave. Despite its incredible importance to the Batman canon, and its influence on the 2022 film "The Batman," this book is long since out of print and incredibly difficult to find. Collectors may be interested to know that this copy is from the first printing of this edition. The book is in very good condition, given its age, with only very light shelf wear on the covers. The internal paper still has bold colors and crisp linework, and the binding remains intact and strong, with no loose pages. I do not see any rips, tears, or creases.
