Description: Here we have a very interesting DC Batman hardcover book, printed by Crown books in 1971. It is the Batman with Robin the Boy Wonder From the 30's to the 70's book with many classic key issues reprinted. What makes this particular example of this book interesting is that the cover coloration is different from any others I have seen, and the interior pages that are supposed to be in color (see pics) are in black & white. Now these pages aren't replaced...the entire book is printed in the same black & white, and totally bound with a red spine, with the logo embossed on the spine. Some of the page numbers are cut off. It's almost as if the whole book is a photocopy of the actual book, bound up. I can't explain what this is except, possibly, an early proof copy of the book. I have no proof (pun intended) that it's a proof copy, but I know from my own publishing experience that wacky things happen during the proofing stage and since this one is so different, I'm going to go with that thought. Please correct me if you have more accurate info! The front cover has a few smaller tears as shown, and there is a clear plastic cover over the dust jacket (the clear cover has one small tear on the front top).
