Co-director Tom Lawson started the film and Michael Koepenick finished it 10 years later working directly with the legendary Col. Bruce Hampton in 2012. The doc has a star studded cast including Billy Bob Thornton, Dave Matthews, Chuck Leavell (Stones/Allman Bros.), Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, members of Phish, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveller, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead), Warren Haynes, Peter Buck, Jimmy Buffet, and many more. Guillotine Pictures produced this film and it screened at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2012, The Oxford Film Festival 2013, and the Macon Film Festival 2013 where it won best music documentary. Due to the costs of music publishing rights and legal fees to obtain them, this film may end up shelved rather than out there for digital purchase.
