The "EA" before the number stands for épreuve d'artiste and the quality of this of ink in this print is much higher than a typical serigraph print - you can see the three dimensional texture of the ink on the paper, which unfortunately cannot be captured by my camera. The colors are vibrant with an interesting contrast between the explosion of color and the soft maternal gaze of the subject. Wood was a native of Ohio who then attended Traphagen School of Fashion in NY. She completed her formal studies at the Art Students League in NY before moving to Southern California where she attended the Otis Parsons School of Art and the Pasadena School of Fine Arts. Fascinated by color, her canvases speak of an individualistic, figurative style. Her bold and vibrant colors leave a lasting impression on the viewer. Her works have been collected by many prominent people, including President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Jayne Seymour, Jerry Lewis, Ron Howard and many, many more. She died in 2023 at the age of 96.
