The S&N Co. name is no longer there, just the date of 1952. S&N made a number of axes with this date stamped on them. It seems that nobody in the axe collecting world knows the significance of this date or why it was stamped on S&N axes. There has been much research done on this and it still remains a MYSTERY. The person that solves this riddle as to why S&N dated certain axes with this date will be remembered for a long time in the hearts of axe collectors and the annals of axe collecting. The head measures 4 5/8" long with a 2 15/16" wide cutting edge. If your axe collection does not contain a dated S&N axe you should seriously consider adding one.
