Description: When you think of primitive tools and points what comes to mind first, obsidian or flint? If you are an obsidian person then you are in luck. Obsidian makes extremely sharp implements and is relatively easy to work. It also can trap gasses between the layers of volcanic glass producing an effect similar to the iridescence seen in some bird feathers, or present swirling patterns produced by impurities such as iron or manganese. This made obsidian a strong candidate for ceremonial points or blades. Most of my black, double flow and gold sheen I collect in southern Utah near Black Rock. 2.24 inch spear point. 4-60I make all of my points by hand using traditional methods. These are not ancient artifacts. If you like this point, please visit my store and see what else I have to offer.
