Description: AUTHENTIC 2020 BREEDERS CUP CLASSIC WINNER HORSE RACING JOHN VELAZQUEZ 8X10 PHOTO Authentic (foaled May 5, 2017) is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and the winner of the 2020 Kentucky Derby He first attracted attention with an impressive win in his first win November 9, 2019, at Del Mar racetrack. He ran in stalker position in his first run after a respectable start. In the last corner he went forward and won with an easy 1 1/2 lengths. After Authentic's first race, his jockey Drayden Van Dyke said he thought Authentic was leading trainer Bob Baffert's best 2-year-old at the time. Authentic's pedigree is quite impressive. His sire and dam are Into Mischief and Flawless, respectively. He is related to the Triple Crown Winner Affirmed, Storm Cat, Northern Dancer. Further back he is related to the great Triple Crown winner War AdmiralBob Baffert-trained Authentic has had some problems learning how to focus on and off the track. In the Sham Stakes at Santa Anita Park. He went straight to the lead and never looked back. He ran down the straight at a fast pace until he suddenly began to snake. He was on the verge of running into the railing once. But his jockey Drayden Van Dyke had him back under control and he galloped out. He won easily by 7 lengths. Baffert then decided to put earplugs on Authentic for his next few races. Authentic started the Haskell Invitational. Mike E. Smith said after the race that he found Authentic to have a wealth of talent, but he still has a lot to do as he still had problems with his lack of concentration.Bob Baffert considered using blinkers on Authentic by said that it could confuse Authentic again shortly before the Kentucky Derby. That's why he should run without blinkers in the Kentucky Derby. After winning the Derby, Authentic was spooked again in the Winners Circle, shed off all the roses and knocked his trainer Bob Baffert to the ground. Ironically, Baffert's other horse in the 2020 Derby, Thousand Words reared back in the paddock, knocked off his silks and saddle and landed on his back. This broke Assistant Trainer Jimmy Barnes's hand. Thousand Words was then scratched from the race. WIKIPEDIA, 2020. WIKIPEDIA, 2020.Photo will be mailed in high quality photo mailer.
