Description: Here we have a fully reconditioned Austin Healey Sprite or MG Midget 1098/1275 engine 4 speed, "rib case" gearbox. This fits the MK2 and MK3 sprites with the 1098 or 1275 engine and the MG midget cars from 1963 to 1974. It does not fit the 948 engine cars before that as they use the smooth case type transmission. This transmission was completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected. All the normal wear items - seals, gaskets, bearings, layshaft, circlips, synchros, etc. were replaced with new. This also has new detent springs in the 1st/2nd and the 3rd/4th hubs, a new reverse idler, cluster gear, 1st/2ndouter hub and 3rd gear. All other parts were checked for proper clearances and condition. The unit was reassembled and re-clearanced to factory specs. The unit was then bench tested for function. We are selling this outright, with no core exchange required. This is sold without the shift lever and attachment parts, and the clutch fork and bolt.
