Description: AURORA AFX FLYING TURNS RACE SET from 1971 This is probably a partial set. I am unfamiliar with what would be included in a complete set. This lot includes the following: 1 power pack, 2 controllers, 2 cars with all original parts, 1 terminal track, 2 metal loops, 6 long straight track pieces, 9 medium straight track pieces, 1 start track piece, 1 short straight track piece, 3 curvy/wavy track pieces, 4 short curves, 16 large curves, 2 loop tracks, 17 guard rails, 2 packs of pins/track connectors/etc, service manual, and modular bridge beam pieces as shown. I assume the power pack and controllers are working correctly, but no guarantee. I tried various vintage slot cars with the controllers. In each case, the rear wheels spun on the terminal track, but the cars did not go fast or far upon release. The two cars are missing pieces and are as shown in the photos. The red car rear wheels spin, and the car moves a brief distance upon the terminal track. The orange car is missing tires and a slot pin from the chassis. I don't know what type of work the orange car chassis might need to get it to drive. Both of the chassis are AFX, made in Singapore. The box is in good vintage condition. As shown in the photo, there is a serial number of some sort written on the top in permanent marker, and there are a couple large scrapes in the center of the box lid. The 20 page original service manual is from 1971 as well. There are flaws, especially on the first few pages, as shown. There is also a partial "Assembling Loop the Loops" page which may or may not have been part of the service manual. It is faded and yellowing, as opposed to the cleaner, whiter service manual.
