Another benefit of this board is that it uses the Apollo Pro 133a chipset, which allows for high speed CPUs, high speed FSB and high RAM capacity for a board of this era. This should allow for the early 3D graphics cards like the 3dfx Voodoo 3, Nvidia Riva TNT2 etc to run flawlessly. Another great aspect of this board is that it was one of the first motherboards designed specifically to cater to the overclocking community, and also to those looking to build their own custom rig rather than purchase one of the typical standard issue mass produced PCs of the era that had a very limited range of expandability or overclocking potential. It will allow you to create a virtual CD/DVD rom drive on your windows 98 pc, where you can upload CD/DVD rom images directly from your usb flash drive. Some sources say you're better off using pci graphics and sound cards with boards using the Apollo chipset. That might be something to consider when choosing this board for your build. If so, it's a good thing this board has six pci slots. Another thing to note is that this board is pre set for stability, not gaming performance.
