Description: David Davis [1815 1886] was a jurist and politician from Illinois who was nominated by President Abraham Lincoln as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States and served from 1962 until his death in 1977. Davis was also a close friend of Lincoln and served as his campaign manager at the 1860 Republican National Convention where he successfully engineered Lincoln's nomination for President. Listed for auction is the autograph of David Davis signed on a card. The autograph is signed ''David Davis Asso. Jus S C W S Washington 1876'' in black fountain pen. The card measures 3.50 x 2.00 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic, rare to obtain and is a desirable example of this noted jurist and is ideal for display.
