Maialon" is a funny calembour in which converge, on the one hand, the reference to the animal protagonist of the work ("pig" in English is pig and "maialon"in Italian evokes the pig, understood also metaphorically), on the other hand, the reference to the famous Greek myth of Pygmalion, a sculptor who, having madly fallen in love with his statue, convinced Aphrodite to transform it into a woman in flesh and bones and then marry her.A further ironic refinement of this work of art made with recycled materials, is the indirect allusion to a famous Italian saying: "nothing is thrown away from the pig". Pig.Maialon has as its base a plastic bin whose lid corresponds to the muzzle of the animal. If desired, it can also be used as a secret container. AMIRA (Amira Munteanu Bergmann) is an Italian multimedia artist born in Transylvania from a family of Austro-Hungarian Jewish intellectuals and art collectors. She has been painting since she was 4. She was the first artist, after the fall of the communist regime, to have a solo exhibition in the Palace of Ceausescu in Bucharest (currently the seat of the Parliament of Romania) at the age of only 22 years.
