The blue sky overhead is filled with birds and the clouds reflect in the glittering water. The artist has signed to the lower right corner and the painting is presented in a contemporary lime washed frame with white card mount and glazing. On wove. Condition The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame is in fine condition.Biography Painter who was born in Cockermouth, Cumberland. Before emigrating to America in 1888 he lived in Brighton and exhibited at RA, RBA, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and Royal Scottish Academy. Willett lived in New York and painted murals later working with muralists Edwin Howland Blashfield (1848-1936) and Henry Siddons Mowbray, (1858-1928) and Francis Lathrop, (1849-1909). His American work included panels in the Capitol Building, Washington DC and he was a member of the National Society of Mural Painters. Nothing is known of any British art education.
