Description: Available for IMMEDIATE shipping, offered are 0.261" thick targets laser cut from 48" x 120" plates at 600 Brinell. Flash® Technology test plates and production line used passed "First Article" inspection to US Army certifiable MIL DTL 32332A Class 1 Ultra Hard Armor. Other AR600, if you can find it affordably in low volume, is often not certified as Armor because it is brittle and fails badly in blast fragment testing. Flash® is patented, novel technology that creates the overall most ballistically and blast fragment resistant metal ever tested in the world today. After testing at Army Research Lab and NTS Chesapeake, on a pound for pound basis, Flash Armor plate outperforms, titanium, aluminum, and steel armors against 0.30-cal M2 armor piercing rounds (0 and 30 degree obliquity), 20mm FSP, and many other rounds. In combination, you will not find a higher performing room temperature Truly Weldable™ steel. We can say this because 3rd party testing at an areal density of 10.6psf (0.261"), Flash Ultra Hard Armor has stopped penetration at 25 feet by: 0.30-cal M2AP at 0 degree obliquity at with a V50 of >2200fps, no shatter gap detected, all AP cores shattered. NOTE: AR500 only stops this shot to a V50 of approx 1600fps0.30-cal M2AP at 30 degree obliquity with a V50 of 2625-2700fpsM80 ball at 0 degree obliquity with a V50 of 3049fps (~300fps over muzzle velocity) making this far superior to NIJ 3+ M855 62gr SS109 Green Tip at muzzle velocity with easeM193 55gr at muzzle velocity up to a 20" barrel, V50s in excess of 3150fps20mm FSP at >1600fpsAK-47 AP at muzzle velocity Hardness on these targets will vary from approx 550 to 600 Brinell but all plates sold to DOD have a minimum 570 Brinell. The Flash Team, just like steel mills, uses the same feedstock to produce both AR600 and US Army MIL DTL 32332A Ultra Hard 600 Armor plate on the same production line yet only the Ultra Hard 600 is ballistically certified. Because the targets sold in this auction are not designed for personal protection, no ballistic performance is stated, implied, nor guaranteed. The targets in this auction are being sold for use as buyer deems appropriate but in all circumstances, proper safety precautions for shooting steel should be observed. This includes wearing eye protection and keeping a safe distance between the firearm being discharged and the target. Note that Flash 600 Brinell plates resist dimpling significantly better than AR500 which reduces potential splatter blowback. Firing M80 Ball rounds at 25 feet distance in laboratory conditions at 250-300 feet per second over muzzle velocity will dimple the steel, not plug through it, making Flash 600 far in excess of typical NIJ 3+ claims of others (see pics). Flash targets will do well against pistol rounds. For longest target life, rifle rounds should hit the target below 2800fps. While Flash does hold numerous V50 velocity stopping records for various rounds, it can still be cracked if one chooses to shoot at 20 yards with high powered rifles in an overlapping pattern. Like other targets, it is your choice to use them for a long time or break them quickly. Some Flash 600 targets have been in use for over 5 years of regular 200 yard shooting. I also personally know how to break them in 15 minutes shooting a rifle at 15 yards, with too much power, in tight overlapping patterns. Welding at room temperature has been performed with MIG and TIG with standard skillset. Heat affected zones have been hardness mapped and are less brittle than weldments of other AR500 and AR600 plates. Tack weld assembly is simplified as pieces stay flat when laser cut out. These targets can be welded but ballistic resistance will be lower in the heat affected zone. Custom sizes and shapes available for additional charge. Check out our other auctions in which 48" x 60" and 48" x 120" plates of AR600 are available. With verified credentials, FOUO data is available which will show that Flash Ultra Hard 600 is the highest performing, readily weldable, most bendable, and cost effective metal known to fabricate a protective structure. Flash Targets being offered for sale by Master CNC, Inc under agreement with Flash Steelworks, Inc. Plates can only be shipped to addresses within the 50 United States.
