Description: An Extraordinary One-Of-A-Kind Late 18th - Early 19th Century Baroque Metal Heavy High Relief European - French Figural Sculpture Framed Large Framed Plaque of a romantic scene depicting most likely a musceteer flirting with a tavern maid who is holding a pot-bellied bottle of wine in her hands ~ as reminiscent of a regal period of French Romantic History in 17th Century, described by Alexandre Dumas père, French, in his novel "The Three Musketeers" in 1844. The Heavy Frame is covered with Orange Velvet and has stunning carved metal sculptured spear-shield-like appliques on all four corners. The Framed Piece has a thick twisted wire cable on the back. The back is shown on the last photo. Attributed most likely back to the late 18th - very early 19th Century. This Plaque is highly detailed with amazing eye appeal to each small details from eloquent poses of flirting musceteer and young maid, the expressions of their faces to medieval gothic spiers of buildings with a built-in Madonna and Child on one of the walls, tiled windows which draws the viewer into the scene. We could not find another like this unique peace when we researched it. This was obviously part of a gorgeous interior at one time in its history and would be stunning displayed again on the wall or just on a stand. Condition report: unique survived very good antique condition with patina throughout, some rubbing to the metal finish. We don't see any cracks, dents or deformation. Only one lower spear applique on the frame corner has chipped off tip, see last photo. The piece is dusty, wasn't clean in a reason not to remove patina as a proof of it's age. The back shows some scratching and wear. Please, note: Colors may appear darker/lighter/adjusted vibrancy than real life due to the screen/device type you are viewing this on.
