Description: A very handsome Art Nouveau period quilt. A patchwork front & beautiful Art Nouveau period fabric back. Blue, gray, tan & black on the front & teal, tangerine orange & sage on the back. Tied in various color thread. The fabric design is very much in the realm of Alphonse Mucha. Condition is is overall very nice, slightly primitive. The back will have some random small fiber breaks in the tied areas caused by the weight of the wool v.s the lighter fabric backing. There is a brown calico border on either end which has some wear & a sweet old mend in one area. Styles beautifully & is a very unique textile of its period. ***Measures~ 70” wide by 88” long.
