Description: We are listing 2 of these old baskets this week on auction. They were found together and have the exact green velvet lining in the basket, and were a pair at a church many, many years ago. This one is a very old, antique offering basket that has patina that can only be appreciated by laying eyes on it. It is beautiful. The bowl of the basket is only about 8", and the entire measurement is 36" from end to end, making one think of a smaller congregation with shorter benches, as the reach is only 36". The velvet lining took on a blueish tone in pictures, it is really a true green color. The antique condition is perfect, no bad wicker, splits or damage, it is very solid, hard wicker. There is a very worn portion of a paper label on the bottom, with letters 'ENEZ', making me think very possible it may have read 'VENEZUELA'. Perhaps either made in Venezuela or used in a Venezuelan church? Definitely more research to be done on this very old collection basket. This one looks exceptionally old.
