Description: Antique Vtg Shipibo Indian Pottery Pot Vessel Peru Peruvian Amazon Polychrome Description Beautiful and very old pottery pot or vessel -We are not experts, but this appears to be very old. It is unmarked -Our research indicates this was made by the Shipibo people of Peru and the Amazon rainforest -The walls are quite thin about 4mm -The body is a tan-yellow buff surface, color is consistent throughout the pot (some of the images appear a little brighter, that is due to the lighting and flash) -The bottom of the pot was painted the red color as used in the design -It has a interesting abstract hand painted design using red and thin black lines -The pot is a little mis-shapen -Pot stands at about 4.8" tall with a circumference of 20" around the widest part -It is in good condition for its age. Some cracks are present on the top edge of the bowl. A small, 1.3" x .5" piece of the lip was broken and has been repaired.
