It looks both Scandinavian and early RussianThe wood is bent to form the sides of the base and the lid and it is held in place by stitches - bark, I think, I suppose, just possibly leather8" across and 3 and 5/8" deepI think probably late 19th century, but it's a guessAny issues? the box is very secure but there are a few missing stitches and some damage, best seen in photos 6 and 8Any information you have about this kind of box would be very welcome
