Description: For your consideration is a incredible old antique rim door lock manufactured by Sargent & Co. in New Haven Conn. many years ago. The lock is # 2533 as shown in the 1910 Sargent trade catalog. The lock comes with jet black porcelain knobs, cast iron rose and key escutcheon. The strike & bolt are made of brass, the lock body is cast iron. The lock has a privacy latch. The rim lock is in excellent functional condition - it has been refurbished - all parts disassembled, cleaned and properly reassembled. The porcelain knobs are in very good condition with a few negligible nicks & scratches. The lock is reversible - it will work with a right hand or left hand swing door. The lock is 4-3/4" wide, distance between the lock face and center-of-hub (set back): 2-1/2". Comes with a functioning skeleton key. Does not come with mounting screws.
