Description: 1917 Antique Universal Brand No. 522 Genuine Vacuum Dark Blue Thermos Style Bottle - with original Thermos Cork by Landers, Frery & Clark New Britain, Connecticut With Original Box And Accessories Note: Universal (thermos style) vacuum bottles from 1917 are extremely uncommon here or on any other reseller platform and the few that are listed invariably do not have the original packaging, the original Thermos issued cork or the accessory nesting drink cups. Most are also, not actually from 1917 and do not have the stamped patents on the base of the bottle as does this one. The box in any semblance of shape, is in and of itself, a collector's premium. This is what an insulated vacuum bottle and original packaging from WW I looks like. 107 years old and still looks like a teenager - an energetic, rough and tumble one, nonetheless. It is thoroughly clean inside & out, top to bottom. The aluminum and Stainless Steel is still in great condition, including the three original accessory cups - and the glass liner is fully intact. Please see the many detailed photos that I have provided in the gallery that best illustrate the outstanding condition and display qualities. The original store merchandizing and packaging box is also in very good structural condition, but paper over a century old, being what it is - is somewhat fragile, but still holding up very nicely, with just a inner reinforced side split (shown in photo details). This will be very carefully packaged for shipment to guard against the most severe handling by parcel carriers, outside of them running over it with a delivery truck.
