Description: Antique Tilt Top Table is Oval Shaped. Suitable for Candle Stand Tea Table Wine Side Accent Table Sturdy, well constructed piece. No wobble in base/legs. Queen Anne style with tripod cabriole legs that fit into a beautiful turned wood vase shaped pedestal with mortise and tenon joinery. Pedestal base has notched at bottom, as do the legs where they join the pedestal. Feet have a carved “slipper sole”. Exact age is not known. Hand carved mortise and tenon joinery attach legs to base. Hand carved wood cleat holds table flat when in use. Four brass flathead screws attach the tabletop to the tilting base. Preowned item. Light expected surface wear attributed to age, gentle use and storage. Nothing that detracts from function or beauty. It has a couple of tight splits in the wood attributed to age and drying of the wood over time. They look like they have been there a long time, are not loose and do not appear to be getting larger. One is on the edge of the tabletop, one is at top of pedestal where it connects to the top, and one is at base of pedestal in between two of the legs. Not noticeable unless looking for them. SEE PICS The oval tabletop measures approximately 21.25” x 15” x .75”. The tripod legs span approximately 20.5” in each direction. The height of this table is approximately 25.25” when the top is flat and in use. Overall height when table top is vertical is approximately 37”. Finished with a reddish, brown stain.
