Description: This is a very fine example of an Antique Ratanakosin Seated Gilt Bronze Buddha Figure from Thailand. This particular Buddha figure is holding an alms bowl in his hands. Please note the fully intact spike as well as the beautiful straight & undamaged ears. This Bangkok Period piece dates from the latter part of the 19th Century and was originally purchased in Bangkok in the early 1970's by myself & my father who was an antique dealer in Penang Malaysia at the time. He only purchased from two reputable Bangkok dealers - Peng Seng and Anna's Antiques - both located in Bang Rak in the vicinity of the Oriental Hotel. Please review pictures closely in regards to the overall condition of this Buddha figure. Overall this Buddha Figure is in Fine to Very Good Condition. The two finials on the Buddha's right side (shoulder & knee) are slightly more worn than the finials on the left side.Buddha Dimensions: 4 3/4 inches wide at the base, 8 1/8 inches high with depth of 2 1/2 inches.
