Description: This church, built in 1886, stood until 1969, when it was demolished to allow construction of the Archdiocese of New York Chancery building, which contains a new space within the building for the church. This print was done in 1972, just after demolition, thus titled “Old St. John’s Church”. This is better known as the Church of St. John the Evangelist, a Roman Catholic parish in Manhattan. The print appears to be signed by an Arthur Brook or Arthur Beach. The print and frame both show wear and age. The frame is falling apart. Haven’t taken the print out of the frame, selling as is. Some stains are definitely on the inside of the glass, while others are on the print, especially near the bottom. 12 x 15” framed.
