Description: Another item from Country Artifacts, Great Northern Liquidation, Springfield, Vermont.This item is Antique with signs of age and previous use that are shown in the pictures. Please review the pictures carefully for more details.Additional Notes: A very fine faience teapot. Aside from the repaired lid, it is in very good condition with normal signs of age and previous use as shown.It is predominantly pink with a nice variety of multi-colored flowers in a Japanese Famille Rose pattern. The pattern number is 235. The backstamp is the green Sarreguemines crown and shield mark used from 1860-1919.According to Brocante Antiquites of Saint-Julien-Chapteuil France: In 1862, Sarreguemines bought the decorations of English and Far Eastern inspiration from the recently closed Fismes factory that were created for Minton porcelain by the Vernon family who had set up the Porcelain factory in Fismes around 1853. It is only around 1865 that Sarreguemines used these decorations, accompanied by the signature with the green escutcheon and the decoration numbers.
