I just acquired a small collection of rare original Boston prints that I am offering this week. It has been about a decade since I have had one of these prints. I actually had another example of this print in 2017 and that one went to an institution. This is a scarce print that you dont find very often. I have found one other on the market that is selling for nearly 5 times what I am asking. A nice large image measuring 16 1/4 x 13 1/4 inches on sheet measuring 19 x 16 inches. When I took it out of the frame for pictures, I am fairly confident I was the first to take it out since it was put in there back in the mid 19th Century. The prints shows some consistent and inconsistent toning with some spotting and staining. Really the toning exists because it is in the original frame with the original single piece of wood backing. A simple cleaning and deacidification would probably bring this print almost back to as it was printed. A really good example that could be made museum worthy. Original period lemon gold frame that I debated keeping for a different print as it is a stunning frame in and of itself but thought the total package was really too good to separate.
