PATSY FROK & ROMPER CO.No. 3630. United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. June 6, 1921 " Figure 1 is a front view of the child's romper. Figure 2 is a rear view of the same. In his application for patent No. 54,809, Zidell declared that he had 'invented a new, original, and ornamental design for children's rompers, of which the following is a specification; reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof. ' In the specification he claimed 'the ornamental design for children's rompers as shown."Condition: Good Vintage/Antique condition with some tiny "pin" holes. Several of the large "shell" buttons are discolored and chipped. The left side bottom has an open seam. There is no size tag so please use the measurements in the photos. All photos except the last three are of the actual item. If any questions or concerns, please ask before bidding. The mfg. tag is the same color as the romper indicating the romper may have been dyed. Provenance: In early 1970 I went to the MGM Studios auction of props and costumes. I was there when Debbie Reynolds was buying for her collection. I witnessed the sale of the Ruby Slippers, Cowardly Lion costume, etc. Then we got the notice of the gigantic sale of the remainder of the costumes to be held on the massive MGM 27 sound stage{Wizard of Oz]. The last photo shows a part of the sale where this item came. There is no MGM marking on the romper. It has been in a box since the sale.
