Description: You're looking at a beautiful extra-wide (about 48" by 8") Panoramic Photo of The Old Portland,Or/Vancouver,Wa Interstate Bridge, Several classic old billboards and businesses including Tinning shops and Livery stables in the picture. Taken from the roof of a building apparently.A beautiful piece of history from over a hundred years ago. A literal snapshot of a forgotten era. This was taken by my grandfather, Harold M. Brown, who was a pioneer in Panorama photography and whose photography can be seen all over the Pacific Northwest in museums and galleries, and at the Oregon Historical Society website. There isn't any inscription on this print but judging from similar pix in the same area in the OHS society's library, I figure this is from 1921. Sadly, my Great-Grandfather died before I ever knew him, but here's his bio on the OHS site:Name of creator Brown, Harold M., 1887-1956 Biographical history: Harold M. Brown was born in Minnewaukan, North Dakota, on June 2, 1887. During the first half of the 20th century, he worked as a commercial photographer, primarily focusing on the lumber and shipping industries in northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington. During World War II, Brown also served as an Army photographer. He died on August 17, 1956. Source: Harold M. Brown obituary, Oregonian, August 24, 1956, Page 21. Always carefully stored and rolled. No sun bleaching or rips or tears. Nice edges. See photos. I'm moving soon and am downsizing so I'll be putting up several more of these (only keeping the ones with family members in them), so check back and I will combine shipping if you let me know you're getting more than one. Buy with confidence as I have 100% positive feedback for honest descriptions, secure packing and fast shipping. Thanks for looking.
