Description: The age range of the rug is right at 100 years, so I would say that this one just makes it into the antique status.The design is corn plant pictorial. It is both bold and powerful and also has a whimsical feeling to it. The nice abrash also adds character. This seems to be a hard-to-find design. The body of the weaving is in excellent condition. Both end selvages have been repaired. The repair is very well done. The repaired area is zero to three quarter inch wide at the bottom red border. At the top is about the same in the red border plus the black border (all repair). We have had the weaving for 30 years so it was done at some time before that. The color of the repair yarn is extremely well matched and has not faded in at least 30 years, perhaps much longer.
