The Arrowsmith map publishing house was founded by Aaron Arrowsmith (1750-1823) at 10 Soho Square, London in about 1790. He had worked for John Cary for a number of years and eventually left to form his own company. The company was continued by his two sons Aaron (died 1830) and Samuel (died 1839) and his nephew John (1790-1873) and became one of the most prolific map producers of the 19th Century producing a large range of very accurate maps. This small map is from 'An Atlas of Ancient Geography' first published by Aaron Arrowsmith in 1829.
