Description: This skillet (or fry pan) was in a Tennessee family a long time. Likely dates 1930s. The 3-notch heat ring on the bottom (notches at 9, 12, 6) is indicative of early Lodge skillets. Bottom marking is 8 (#8 size skillet), and above this, is what looks like a 0 (zero) with a 9 inside. The 8 looks hand scribed, not stamped, which may be rare. Overall: 15-1/8" long (including handle) x 11-1/8" wide (at pour spouts) x 1/8" thick. 9" diameter (base); interior diameter 10-1/4" (not at spouts); about 2" deep (not counting heat rings); handle extends out about 4-3/4" (from interior). Weighs about 4 lbs. 9.9 oz. Good, used condition with wear. Skillets sits flat (not warped). Some char outside/bottom. Very usable but would benefit from seasoning and/or reconditioning. From smoke free home.
