Description: Antique J.W. Tufts Silverplate Pickle Castor Set Clear Insert, Lid, Tongs 100+ yrs Measures: 10" tall, 4 1/4" wide. Marked: "J.W. Tufts Boston Triple plate 2366 2350" Sits nice and flat on a surface. No wobble. Hook for tongs is strong and intact. I don't see any repairs done to this piece. If there arethey did a very, very good job. Insert measures: 4" tall and 3" wide at top rim. It has an etched sunflower or daisy and leaf pattern. No chips, no cracks, no flea bites Tongs measure: 3 1/4" long I have not polished it. There is some plate loss but overall it is in great condition for 100+ years old. J.W. Tufts registered in 1875 as a manufacturer of an extensive line of silver-plate items. It Consolidated in 1891 as a branch of American Soda Fountain Co. A passion of J.W. Tufts.
