Description: Large antique Kanban. Original handmade Japanese store window sign featuring a beckoning cat. One of a kind piece. 24 1/2” tall, 18 1/2” wide. A little over an inch thick. Exact date unknown, likely very early 20th century, either late Meiji or early Taisho period. Paint has some crazing and cracking due to age. Some scratches and dings to the wood. Frame rails are loose in some places. Please see photos for actual condition.
