Antique HUGO ECKENER Pencil Signed Print by Alexander Eckener 5 of 10 C. 1924

Description: Item up for sale is an absolutely incredible limited print depicting the portrait of German aviation pioneer Huge Eckener. That alone would be awesome enough but it gets better. The print was done by Alexander Eckener who was the younger brother of Hugo Eckener and is pencil signed by the artist but it gets even better than this. Along the bottom of the print is a large and bold pencil signature of Hugo Eckener himself. Print is numbered 5 of only 10 created and is housed in what we strongly believe to be it's original wooden framing. Paper shows yellowing and patina consistent with age with some areas of paper wear and rolling in the framing and a few small areas of brown spotting. Paper shows a clear impression of a plate mark from the printing process. Matting shows yellowing and patina consistent with the print itself with some areas of discoloration. Glass could use a light cleaning and exhibits no chips, cracks or breaks. Wood framing shows wood and finish wear with areas of wood loss which is most notable along the lower left hand front side as you can see in photos. Backing shows wear and yellowing from age. Hanging wire is likely original to the piece and new owner may wish to upgrade. Visible print measures 14-1/2" top to bottom by 9-3/8" wide. Frame measures 21-1/8" top to bottom by 16-1/8" wide by 0-7/8" in depth. Absolutely incredible historical piece that comes fresh to the market from a recent estate buyout.
