Made in Austria around 1910 Dimensions of sculpture appoximate:16" high32" long18" wide25 lbs weight Hot cast method for brass sculptures: Moltin brass liquid is poured into a mold which is able to seep into the details of that mold. After the brass is cooled the mold is chisled away and the sculpture is then sanded and refined.Next a patina or guilding is applied to the sculpture which is an invonlved process in itself, then the sculpture is hand polished and finished. The hot casting is a highly skilled, complex, time and labour-intensive process. Every part of the process requires incredible skill on behalf of the artisan and foundry where it is made. It combines approximately 80% copper and 20% zinc with a small number of other metals to produce brass statues.
