Description: my photos didn't turn out very well again This item is a octagon shape with 8 sides or panels on the bottom pedestal. Then there are 12 sides or panels around the top tier. Then the flatter part of the top is ribbed all the way around . The handle is applied on and the photos don't show how neat that is . The fitting for the burner looks like it is brass. I couldn't find another one exactly like mine. The ones that were kind of close were the Queen Anne oil lamps from the 1880's This is a handy item to have on hand in case the power goes out . There are no chips or cracks. it has some scratches on the bottom from normal use. I only noticed those when I was using a magnifying glass to look for a makers mark . It is a great find and I believe it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's..
