Description: This is an early 19thc antique German paper mache doll on a milliner's body. She has a lovely open face with deep green/blue painted eyes. Her center part hair is sculpted looped around of her modelled ears and pulled back into a braided and twisted bun. She has wooden arms and legs. Someone loved her, she wears a beautifully made two piece dress of vibrant printed fabric made with a combination of hand and machine sewing. Her clothing includes a chemise, pantaloons and slip, all meticulously sewn. Look at the tiny hand stitched detailing in the pointed trim of her slip Rather than describe them, I have tried to take some good photos.She stands 24” tall.
