Of solid silver with all over niello work of particularly fine quality. Of elongated rounded rectangular form with sprung hinged domes lid, the base with straike plate. Hallmarked with Frnech silver hallmarks (Boar's head) as well as Russian silver import mark for St Petersburg. This russian mark was used from 1882-1898. A very fine match safe. ConditionIn antique condition with expected wear. Minor dings, scratches and surface wear throughout. Some small dings towards base, see pic. 8. Hallmarks are clear and legible.
