Description: Gorgeous French wardrobe or armoire. It has a very stately presence! This beautiful antique features a mirrored door with a si gle drawer below. The frame is made from pine with carved faux bamboo detailing and decorative turnings to the top gallery. Beautiful color and patina and evidence of old treated worm holes. The 3 shelves rest on wooden fittings that are adjustable with the zigzag supports or the interior could easily have a rail inserted. According to an appraiser, “great condition French antique faux bamboo wardrobe circa late 1880s to 1920s.” The interior makers, mark stamp is incomplete with the only the last word being legible of Tapisserie. This piece has been thoroughly cleaned and is an excellent condition with only one minor repair at the bottom, right hand corner of the exterior mirrored door. This is shown circled in blue in the last picture. The previous owners removed a square section of the back of the wardrobe for ventilation to prevent moisture here in our San Diego coastal climate.
