States that “Betsey Keeler was born in Waterford in the County of Saratoga State of New York March the 12 1800 in the Eleventh year of her age she Wrought this sampler City of Albany Chapelstreet Mohawk Academy April 2 18011 (meaning 1801)”. Betsey may be a descendant of the Isaac Keeler family who were early settlers in Waterford, NY. Has alphabet in upper and lower case at top and decorated with houses, trees, flowers etc. around the sides. Sampler measures about 16-1/2” by 11-1/2”. Legible but becomes more faded towards the bottom. Beautiful cherry frame, double glass professionally framed in 1989. See note taped on the back.
