Description: Called the Martha Washington Trinket/Powder box. This clear Depression glass container with pink flashing was made by New Martinsville Glass. The large, elaborate lid has the molded figures of a mother sitting on a bench with her two children next to her. Dressed in a hoop skirt like her mother, the little girl holds her mother's hand as does her brother standing on the other side. The box below is ornamented on all sides with molded floral swags and scrolls, and has four small legs. A full description appears on page 26 of "Bedroom and Bathroom Glass of the Depression Years" by Margaret and Kenn Whitmyer. Some colors are pictured on page 27. It is believed to be produced by the New Martinsville Glass Manufacturing Company between 1937 and 1944.It is about 7" tall to the top of the woman's head. The box measures 5 1/2" by 4", and is 3 1/2" tall without the lid. This one belonged to my GrandmotherBEST OFFER
