Description: Antique English Lined Lacquerware Paper Mache Box Trinket Cream Gold Lidded 1920 This is a particlarly attractive papier mâché box and it would be perfectly acceptable for jewelry or other special items trinkets. Hand painted raised beaded flowers on top and sides- It is very handsomely decorated and particularly finely detailed, depicting scrolling floral pattern. The interior has a soft velvet bottom with dark navy blue color. These antique lacquerware pieces were quite popular in England and France and were made in both countries. This is a high quality one. The box is 4-3/4 inches long and 3½ inches wide. It is about 2 inches high. It is in very good antique condition with some minor blemishes resulting from years of use with some color loss
