Description: On offer, we have a pair of antique candlesticks that are humorous versions of a doctor and his patient. The doctor appears to be holding a large syringe while the patient is wearing a nightcap and holding a blanket. The blanket has "Ordonnarice"(orderly) written at the top. These measure 12" tall with 4 1/4" diameter bases. Under the leather cover of both bases, I can see "coo" hand written on the bottoms. My antique dealer has identified these as Desvres and she dates them to circa 1900. The pair weigh 2 pounds 11 ounces. We believe these are in very good condition. The patient has wear on the glaze on his nose, hands and top corner of his blanket. Both candlesticks have lines around their bases, but they are under the glaze and smooth. Both bases show glued repairs that do not show on the top. As I am not an expert, please view all my photos for more description. My friend who collects everything is moving to a smaller home and starting to part with some of her favorite things. These are from her aunt's estate.
